How much wood could a woodchuck chuck?

So I started taking a woodworking class with DrewYeh a couple weeks ago. The first class was of course just safety and demos, but yesterday we got to start using the machines!

We got our lumber from Home Depot, so it already had pretty nice surfaces. That meant a little less work in the shop, but I think we paid a premium for that. I guess it's more intended for people who are either lazy or don't have access to some of the tools to clean it off. I definitely fall into the former category

It was surprisingly fun to use heavy machinery and cut up the lumber. It's satisfying to be shaping that long plank into pieces that are usable for a purpose, in this case the table that was being built. I guess that's what gets all the crazy sculptors, etc hooked into their craft. It's too bad that I have limited creative/artistic talent or I could consider a change in career.
