It Tolls for Me?
I had a pretty lame high school principal who would used to say the following phrase a lot: "Ask not for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee", which I guess makes me pretty lame if it came to mind and I borrowed it to title my blog posts. While on a tangential note, I somehow now remember a snippet from some Beverly Cleary book that talked about how Ramona Quimby would remember how to spell "principal" instead of "principle" since he wanted to be your pal. Man, I must be much nerdier than I could ever fathom.
But I digress.. the main point is for you to check out this website: http://www.ruthandhubert.com, which will make the blog title make sense.
I'll be tracking the increase in traffic to that site from a combined promotion by Ruth and my blogs to see how much marketing power we have. We're announcing it together because I think I'd be pretty embarrassed to compare the traffic boost from separate announcments on our individual blogs; she has much more influence than I :(

Busting out the Ramona Quimby reference! Next blog, something about Henry and Ribsy, please.
hehe :) i love ribsy!
dont forget to sign the guestbook!
who's ribsy?
THE SCRAGGLY DOGGIE!
okay, now i get to bust out the random sas memory... for whatever reason, i remember mrs. donahue's rant when alby posted that across the high school entrance: she was amused/bemused because the bells referenced in that quote are funereal bells, and she was pretty sure that that was not alby's intention...
Ribsy was named that way because you could see his ribs! Didn't he run away from home in one book?
Who's Ribsy? Psh, some Beverly Cleary fan you are. Next you're gonna ask who Mr. Henshaw is.
man, i thought just vaguely remembering beverly cleary was sufficiently sad, but i guess i don't remember enough
maybe our princiPAL was just trying to be clever and realized the irony of it all... kind of like me.
If it wasn't for Ramona Quimby, I would have never learned that a quarter past 5 meant 5:25.
damn dude that's one slick page. looks so professional. almost on par with your legendary cs page and rooth's jelly bean page.
Seriously, Larry and I walked past this store last week called Principles and for no reason at all I turned to him and said "You know how you remember to keep principal different? Because it's spelled p-a-l, like he's your friend." Damn Beverly Cleary.
YES! You will remember this forever!
Btw, I totally forgot about Harvey. When I think princiPAL I think the Doran/Duoto tagteam. I just found out that a job I applied for in the UK is now under the "headmastership" of Doran. Guess I know why I didn't get an interview! ;)
