Long Live Long Weekends

With another long weekend thanks to the remembrance of the original George W, I went to Dallas to see Roothie, catch up on a belated Valentine's Day, and attend Taylor's wedding!

Belated Valentine's
After arriving on the usual post-work flight on Thursday, I arrived at Ruth's place to the surprise of a tasty double layer chocolate cake!! It was chocolate (my favorite!) with lots of M&Ms to add to the chocolatey goodness:

Roothie ended up with a huge dog named Patrick from FAO Schwarz and some flowers that were delivered the previous day:

But the best gift of all, in my esteemed opinion, was also bringing a new game called Wii Play, which included a few different minigames that demonstrate some of the things that the Wiimote can do. It's fairly simplistic and easy to unlock all 9 of the games that it comes with. Roothie got really excited about the shooting game that was reminscent of Duck Hunt and she defeated me pretty badly after she got into it:

Wedding
The wedding was really nice and gave us lots of ideas to consider for our own. Before coming out to Texas, we had a bachelor party comprised mostly of his Bible study for Taylor in California. It was an overnight adventure that included the goodness of a bonfire at the beach and our apparently now-tradition of smoking cigars:

I didn't really get to take that many photos at the wedding, but it was fun since I served with the rest of the guys as ushers and Ruth played violin for the hymn that was sung during communion. The ensuing reception was a blast as the setting was really nice and a lot of people danced the night away. The highlight was definitely the inclusion of an ice cream bar, which we of course had to return to for seconds!

It was an awesome weekend, but now I have to go home in less than 12 hours :(
