Fish tank... with fish!

I'm making progress!!!!

There's still a bunch of algae in the tank that I keep trying to pull out, but we got 3 green chromis alive and kicking in the tank!

Here's a picture of me making some gourmet food for them... Yum!

Here's a blurry pic of them schooling...

One of my hermit crabs went a little crazy and started climbing up the corner of the tank. I donno how he managed to do it, but I snapped a pic before he fell off.

And here's Rooth's favorite pic...

And finally, the fish love me so much that they came to me when I puckered up.

How much wood could a woodchuck chuck?

So I started taking a woodworking class with DrewYeh a couple weeks ago. The first class was of course just safety and demos, but yesterday we got to start using the machines!

We got our lumber from Home Depot, so it already had pretty nice surfaces. That meant a little less work in the shop, but I think we paid a premium for that. I guess it's more intended for people who are either lazy or don't have access to some of the tools to clean it off. I definitely fall into the former category

It was surprisingly fun to use heavy machinery and cut up the lumber. It's satisfying to be shaping that long plank into pieces that are usable for a purpose, in this case the table that was being built. I guess that's what gets all the crazy sculptors, etc hooked into their craft. It's too bad that I have limited creative/artistic talent or I could consider a change in career.

The aquarium blues...

It was a terrible weekend for my aquarium.

First of all, my cleaner dudes are dying. I saw a set of red crab legs today with no hermit shell nor body attached. :( I still donno what happened to it. Yesterday, I saw a little shrimp tail attached to the intake of my powerhead, so I figured someone had devoured my shrimp. Then when I was cleaning today, I saw the rest of the shrimp parts in my sump. He somehow jumped into my plumbing and got cut up :( My poor shrimp! Below is a pic of the his tail remnants...

And then today... I went to go buy some lumber at Home Depot for the woodworking class that I'm taking. But when I got home, I heard my pumps running dry (i.e. not submerged in water). When I got to the room, the plumbing had fallen apart. So all the water that should overflow and circulate into the sump was all over the carpet... like 10 gallons of water strewn all over the floor. I spent a few hours mopping it up and drying it :( I donno what to do anymore.. I'm so bad at this fish tank stuff!!!

Goodbye Dellf

The Dellf game is over. I never got anything more than a coupon offer. I'm a big Dellf loser
