Now that I'm no longer in school, I don't really get to enjoy the pleasures of Spring Break, but at least for the past week I got to get a taste of it with Roothie in town during her break! Unfortunately, the weather was pretty gross (frightfully cold with episodes of hail), but we still managed to have a good time...
One aspect was shopping around for some home improvement, including looking at some area rugs, an entryway doormat, and potential house plants. We got to varying degrees of success on the items, but the rug I picked up from Ikea was pretty sweet. I just hope it doesn't get too dirty too quickly since it's an off-white color.

We also managed to play some sports in the brief respites from the harsh weather. I popped my tennis racket's strings, so an initial tennis attempt was postponed, but we managed to get some tennis in later during the week. Apparently Ruth's been training hard because she was pretty dominating.

Ruth also learned how to throw a football this weekend... not bad at all. She's not a very convincing football player just holding the ball in a jacket, though.

We also did a lot of eating, as usual... with both at Hobees and Sonos, among other places. At Hobees, we definitely got one of the largest pieces of blueberry coffeecake ever served... it was pretty absurd.

On Friday, I took a little time off to shadow a pediatric ENT surgeon at Stanford in the OR.. that was pretty sweet. I definitely have a newfound respect for doctors/surgery. It was pretty sick what a wide variety of procedures I saw in one morning and how intricate some of the steps were. I'm probably not cut out for something like that, but it was pretty cool to watch, nonetheless.
Finally, we also spent some time at Shoreline since Ruth seems to never get tired of feeding the ducks...

It was definitely good to catch up over the whole week, but it certainly went by really fast =(
