Mario!

I was meaning to post around Thanksgiving, but have been feeling blog-lethargic recently and now it's kind of late. Ruth posted about our Thanksgiving holiday already anyway, so you can read about it over there. The only thing I have to add is that it's nice to be able to attend weddings now and just enjoy them instead of dealing with the inevitable consideration about whether to include certain elements in our own wedding :)

I'm not sure how UT Dallas is on the semester system yet manages to have finals start the last week of November, but I'm done with classes for the year! I thought Stanford was one of the earliest to get out in early December on the quarter system, but I'm not going to complain about a 5 week break from classes. After taking both Anatomy & Physiology and OChem this semester, I'm just going to be taking OChem along with an MCAT class next semester, which should be nice.

In the meantime, I received Super Mario Galaxy just in time as it arrived yesterday after I took my last final. I was terrible at the original Mario games, never able to jump quite the right distance to kill squash people. I'd either leave it short and run into the bad guy or jump over them and have to try again. Trying to cross chasms was also a disaster. I'm usually alright at video games so I don't understand why I couldn't handle a game that basically allowed moving left, moving right, jumping, and shooting fireballs. Fast forward a few consoles later and I'm still horrible at the game :( I shouldn't have expected to improve at it, but now it's even harder since it's evolved from a side scrolling game to a 3D world. I beat the first level which was basically a tutorial and kept dying at the boss of the freaking second level!!! At least I'll have a few weeks to keep trying :)
